About PyData

PyData is an educational program of NumFOCUS, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in the United States. PyData provides a forum for the international community of users and developers of data analysis tools to share ideas and learn from each other.

The global PyData network promotes discussion of best practices, new approaches, and emerging technologies for data management, processing, analytics, and visualization. PyData communities approach data science using many languages, including (but not limited to) Python, Julia, and R.

The PyData Code of Conduct governs this conference. To discuss any issues or concerns relating to the code of conduct or the behavior of anyone at a PyData conference (or meetup), please contact NumFOCUS Executive Director Leah Silen (+1 512-222-5449; [email protected] ) or the local organisers at [email protected]

The Conference

The PyData Eindhoven conference is an annual event which brings together users and developers of open-source software. In addition to all the great talks and workshops, there is no place like PyData Eindhoven to meet other like-minded people and get to talk to the developers of the libraries we all use and love.

Diversity Scholarships

One of PyData’s goals is to increase awareness and excitement around opportunities for underrepresented groups in software engineering and data analytics. To increase diversity in scientific computing, our outreach program ranges from hosting workshops that introduce programming to young women to encouraging diversity in speakers at PyData.

For PyData Eindhoven 2020, we are offering scholarship opportunities to those from underrepresented groups who may otherwise be unable to attend the conference.

Please note scholarships do not cover travel and lodging costs. The deadline to apply is September 7th. Applicants who have been awarded a diversity scholarship will be informed by September 14th.

The Meetup

Next to the conference, there is also a PyData Eindhoven Meetup. Meetups happen on a frequent, though irregular basis and range from coding breakfasts to open source sprints and talks.

Subscribe on our meetup page to be notified of any newly organized meetups.
